Under the new Data Protection Act I need to provide you with information about my practice and why and how I collect and use personal data.
I aim to be fully compliant with current GPDR legislation and to let you know how I use and protect the data you’ve given me. GDPR replaces the previous Data Protection Act. I wish to be transparent with regard to the processes I have in place. Identifiable information if shared will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. I follow guidance from my governing bodies BACP, UKCP.BWY.
I process personal data, directly provided to me by my clients for legitimate interests and in keeping ethical codes of practice in accordance with my professional governing bodies. My services include: Psychotherapy & Counselling sessions, Yoga classes and workshops & retreats. Data is held for informing my clients about them/booking them, booking and arranging Psychotherapy and counselling appointments and booking Yoga classes and managing the availability of places on them. Without this personal data I would not be able to manage my business and provide my services ethically and safely. I also use the data to keep my clients informed about developments at Motion to Mindfulness - new classes, workshops, retreats and other activities.
Historically I have also retained data on clients who do not currently attend yoga classes/ Psychotherapy sessions, for the following reasons:
• To send you newsletters occasionally
• To have information to hand should clients return to classes, as frequently happens.
Personal information is collected only directly from you. I collect no personal information from external sources. Enquiries through website are kept secure. I do not supply personal information to any third party or organisation. Only I have access to your data. No personal data is displayed on our website or accessible from it. You are free to opt in to social media following for Motion to Mindfulness via Facebook, Instagram or twitter. Opting in is your choice.
You are entitled to withdraw at any time your consent to my holding your personal data by notifying me, and I will delete your data. You are also entitled to obtain a copy of the information we hold about you, and we will be happy to update or correct it if necessary.
